Culmination Brewing Expands Its Food Menu Under New Chef CJ Mueller

Culmination Brewing is moving toward their goal of becoming a brewery that is focused on farm-to-table, seasonal menu, focused on beer pairings with the hiring of its new executive chef. CJ Mueller, took over the Culmination kitchen on November 3, 2016.

CJ is a Portland native, who has been a chef for 10 years, but also a home brewer for the past five years. Owner, Tomas Sluiter, says his initial vision for the brewery was to be a “culmination of beer, food, and community.” They are one step closer by moving to a farmhouse food menu which pairs well with its diverse line-up of beers on tap.

Brewpublic had the opportunity to sample some of the new offerings with beer pairings. The quality of the pairings were quite good, despite working from a pretty small kitchen. Some of our favorites are pictured below.

Additionally, on November 8th, 2016, Culmination Brewing began its 8 Weeks of Oysters. Every Tuesday, from 4pm – 8pm (or until gone), order a limited and rotating, three or six oysters on a half shell dish. Tuesday oysters will go thru December 27th, 2016.
