pFriem Family Brewers and Mt. Hood Meadows Team Up For a Morel Mushroom Beer Dinner
Mt. Hood Meadows takes its next beer dinner into the woods when it partners with pFriem Family Brewers on a Morel Mushroom Beer Dinner. The dinner will take place on Saturday, June 17th at Mt. Hood Meadows and will feature one of the flavorful morel mushroom.
This upcoming dinner will celebrate the season’s harvest of morel mushrooms. Mt. Hood Meadows Executive Chef Daniel Dehay has created a menu to pair with uniquely tasteful and complimenting five of pFriem’s beers.
“When it comes to mushrooms, I would place morels at the top of the heap. They are terrifically versatile, are wonderful on their own and add great depth of earthy flavor to any dish that includes them. Even though morels are not a cheap option, because of their very short growing season, their arrival in stores is a very special occasion, and I have even heard more than one chef call them “the herald of summer.” – (Food Network Blog)
Dinner Menu:
Appetizer – Morel Marrow (baked half Morel filled with beet mousse), Morel Buckwheat Tartlets with Gruyere Cheese and Chives or Goat Cheese stuffed fried Morel Mushrooms. Served with Hells Lager.
Salad – Roasted Morels and Picked Chicken Salad with Summer Field Greens, English Peas, Breakfast Radish, Rainbow Carrots, Hood River Strawberries, Raspberry Wheat Vinaigrette. Served with Spring Pale Ale.
Soup – Cream of Mor”ale” soup cooked with and paired with a Blonde IPA.
Entree – Surf and Turf – Alaskan Halibut with morel lemon pilsner butter and filet mignon with morel mushroom “porterlaise” sauce with rainbow potatoes and local asparagus. Served with a Saison.
Dessert – Hopped vanilla ice cream with candied morels and mushroom dust. Served with a Bourbon Barreled Imperial Stout.
The five-course dinner will be served from 6:30 – 9:00, on Saturday, June 17. Seating is limited to 36 people, and the cost is $69 (gratuity included). Reservations must be made online in advance by clicking here.
