16th Annual Roadhouse Brewfest – McMenamins Cornelius Pass Roadhouse

One of McMenamins gorgeous and inviting properties is its Cornelius Pass Roadhouse (CPR). Located in suburban Hillsboro, CPR encompasses 6 acres that features buildings that date back to the 1850’s. On site is a brewery, distillery, restaurant, bars and green space.

Tomorrow, Saturday, July 15th, McMenamins will celebrate the 151st birthday of Cornelius Pass Roadhouse with the 16th annual Roadhouse Brewfest. With over 20 beers pouring, including barrel-aged and sour beer offerings, and over 10 ciders pouring, the annual Roadhouse Brewfest is always a treat. These offerings are from McMenamins and a few guest breweries that include Ambacht Brewing, Culmination Brewing, Ecliptic Brewing, Golden Valley Brewery, Heater Allen Brewing, Leikam Brewing, Little Beast Brewing, Three Mugs Brewing, Uptown Brewing, Vanguard Brewing and Vertigo Brewing.

The festival will take place from Noon until 9:00pm. All ages are welcome and entry is free. To drink a Roadhouse Brewfest ticket package is required. This package includes a festival glass and 10 drink tokens for $17.00. Additional tokens are $1.50 each. One token is good for a 4-ounce taster or 4 tokens for a full pint.

Fulton Brewery
Squirtie Pale
It’s a bear! It’s a dog! No, it’s Squirtie! Whatever he is, Squirtie is most definitely the beloved mascot of the Fulton Pub. Then- manager Paul Hehn sketched his likeness 25+ years ago and he’s been coming around ever since to celebrate the Fulton’s anniversary on May 5th. Squirtie 2017 is a Single Hop Pale Ale chock full of Mosaic Hops from start to dry-hop! A malty body and assertive hoppiness carry this annual offering into hop-fueled bliss. This is a great beer to toast this year’s anniversary of the pub’s opening back in 1988.
Special Techniques: Dry-Hopped
Malts: Baird Maris Otter, Baird 30/37 Carastan
Hops: Mosaic

The Singled Out Series, made locally at John Barleycorns, allows you to taste and appreciate a single hop variety at a time. This Double IPA was brewed exclusively with a brewer’s favorite, Citra Hops. This variety has a large range of flavors and aromas that span from traditional Northwest citrus notes like grapefruit, to tropical fruit flavors like melon and gooseberries.

Hops: Citra
ABV: 8.77% IBU: 85

Our Grateful Red reminds us of a scarlet begonia. This ale will ripple through your taste buds with the fragrance of Chinook, Willamette and Columbus Hops. We use five different malt varieties and four hop varietals for this hoppy Red.

Three Mugs Brewing Company
Mo’ Berry Honey Ale
This brew combines the delicate flavor and aroma of orange blossom honey with the awesomeness of Northwest blackberries, which contribute a unique purple hue. ABV: 6.90% IBU: 7

Uptown Brewing
Oatis Reddin

West Linn Brewery
Cacao Crackdown Porter
A veritable cornucopia of malts set an opulent backdrop for the raw Ecuadorian cacao nibs added at the end of this brew’s fermentation. Subtle hopping lends just a hint of bitterness while retaining a malt-forward balance. Vanilla beans suggest a sweetness expected from chocolate confections, without contributing a saccharine sweetness that would otherwise mask the ethereal experience within.

Red Don
Red Don is a moderately sour beer with a beautiful red-amber hue. This very limited release was inspired by a trip to Belgium that the owners took in the 1990s, exemplified by fruit characteristics of plum, prune, raisin, raspberry and cherry, and followed by some spicy notes. It was brewed as a collaboration with Loyal Legion and a small portion of the batch has been put into Whiskey barrels for aging.

This Black Currant cider is an intriguing blend of apples and black currants, with concentrated aromas of cassis, roses and black raspberries. This cider bursts with flavors of black cherry and plum, with just a hint of sweetness. It finishes with a delicate earthy undertone and a refreshingly bright and tangy zip.

Bauman’s Cider Company
Logan Berry Cider
Logans are generally one of the first cane berries of the season, and making this sweet, fruity cider floods me with memories of picking them behind where our farm store is today. Logans can’t be picked with a machine as they are too delicate and soft, and those attributes come out in the cider as a sweetness from start to finish.
ABV: 6.40%

Bull Run Cider
Dry Hop Cider
Our Dry Hop is a true product of the Northwest, a region that’s world-renowned for growing amazing apples and hops. Northwest-grown Palisade Hops were infused in this cider for over two weeks. Cider Riot!
A Strong & Passionate Fruit
Brought to you straight from the great brain of our cidermaker Angie Watkins, this dry Apple Cider is like a tropical island vacation in a glass. The result is a bright, tart, fruit-forward cider that is still dry, crisp, and refreshing. Close your eyes and believe in summer!
ABV: 6.90%

Edgefield Cider
Barrel-Aged Perry Cider
Unfiltered and aged six months in neutral oak barrels, this Perry is made from true Perry Pears, giving it a natural tannic complexity and bright acidity.
