5th Annual Bellingham Beer Week – September 9 – 18, 2016

Bellingham Beer Week 2016

(Bellingham, WA) – The 5th Annual Bellingham Beer Week (BBW) runs from Sept. 9th – 18th. The event celebrates Bellingham’s exploding craft beer culture. Tap Trail, a craft beer media company, recently acquired BBW. The event is 10 days of craft beer appreciation in what has been called the “snobbiest beer city in America.”

The week will have an impressive number of beer themed events. Kulshan Brewing’s Olympic Beer Games will be one of the many highlights. Kulshan is inviting breweries and patrons alike to form four person teams and participate in a series of 10 Olympic Beer Events. Chuckanut Brewery will be hosting its annual Oktoberfest, showcasing their internationally renowned breweries lagers. Barleywood Squares will be back, featuring craft beer-lebreties answering craft beer trivia. This year’s event is also pulling breweries from around the region. Seattle’s Hales Brewing will be bringing up their double decker bus for tours and tastings. A Bellingham Beer Week Guide will be in the Sept. 7th edition of the Cascadia Weekly, with a calendar of events.

The week will culminate in the 1st annual Uncommon Pairing event, which will bring five unique breweries to downtown Bellingham to partner with Ciao Thyme for a curated food and beer experience. The event will be held at the new Ciao Thyme Commons at 207 Unity Street on Sunday, September 18th from 4pm-7pm, closing out Bellingham Beer Week. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Bellingham Public Schools Foundation’s Central Kitchen Project.

There will be 100 general admission tickets available at $58 and an additional 50 VIP tickets for $78. VIP’s will have access to the after-party from 7pm-10pm where all the local brewery participants will be invited to a Bellingham Beer Week wrap-up party with live music, more beer and food!

The 2016 beers have been chosen from Wander, Chuckanut, North Fork, Structures and Reuben’s Breweries. Ticket holders will enjoy five beers with paired bites from Ciao Thyme in a fun, casual, party atmosphere. Brewers will be on-site to talk with enthusiasts about their creations.

Bellingham is home to numerous craft taphouses and 10 craft breweries, including the largest brewpub in the US, Boundary Bay Brewery and the internationally acclaimed Chuckanut Brewery and Wander Brewing. All of the city’s breweries are award winning at either the state, national, or international level. With more breweries in planning Bellingham has become a national craft beer destination.
