Oregon Brewery Running Series Announces 2017 Fall Schedule

PORTLAND (January 1, 2017) – The Oregon Brewery Running Series is excited to begin their second season of 5K fun runs! Fresh off the heels of their inaugural season in 2016, they are back for 17 events in 2017.

Combining the trends of local brewing and “fun runs,” the series is designed to showcase local breweries and neighborhoods throughout Oregon. All 5K walk/jog/run courses start and end at local breweries where participants enjoy great beer and leave with fun merchandise to commemorate their finish-line victory. Each event offers different perks including health tips, product demos, food, live music and more.

Contributing to this current craft culture, the series focuses on building community. With smaller crowds of 75 – 200 people, these aren’t your typical 5k races that shut down major thoroughfares as speedy racers blast to the finish line. Rather, the Oregon Brewery Running Series team members and brewery staff come together to create a casual, comfortable environment for runners and beer drinkers alike, celebrating healthy lifestyles.

It’s all about Partnership
In addition to supporting local breweries, the Oregon Brewery Running Series is committed to supporting the community through local nonprofits.

“Our events are designed to help grow the sport by reaching new audiences and are inspired by our philanthropic, fun and creative local supporters,” said Nate Herrington, co-founder of the Brewery Running Series.

Proceeds from all Oregon Brewery Running Series events benefit the Portland Parks Foundation and Oregon Brewshed Alliance. In 2016, we raised $1,800 for these great organizations, and hope to more than double that in 2017.

Be Active. Have Fun. Give Back!
