Saraveza To Host Samuel Smith Brits & Yanks: A Toast To Tradition

Samuel Smith Saraveza Salute 2015

Saraveza Bottle Shop & Pasty Tavern will host the Samuel Smith Brits & Yanks: A Toast To Tradition during the Craft Brewers Conference on Wednesday, April 15th, beginning at 7:00pm. This tribute to Samuel Smith will feature IPAs, Pale Ales, ESBs, Porters & Stouts all directly or indirectly influenced by Samuel Smith’s classic brews that include: India Ale, Oatmeal Stout, Organic Pale Ale, Imperial Stout & Taddy Porter.

Founded in 1758, Samuel Smith’s independent, family-owned brewery was first imported to America by Merchant du Vin Specialty Beer Importers back in 1978, and was largely responsible for spearheading the US craft beer movement. Please join Saraveza in celebrating the invaluable role this iconic British brewery has played in the craft beer revolution.

For this one of a kind event, Saraveza is fortunate to be bringing in some key players in the craft beer community. Samuel Smith brews at the Old Brewery, Tadcaster, established in 1758 – it is Yorkshire’s oldest brewery. Traditional methods of brewing have been retained at The Old Brewery. The brewery still has its own cooper making and repairing all its oak casks; all Samuel Smith’s naturally conditioned draught beer is hand-pulled from oak casks.

The Samuel Smith’s ales you will enjoy at Saraveza are fermented in stone “Yorkshire squares” – fermenting vessels made of solid slabs of slate – which give the beers a fuller-bodied taste, using the same strain of yeast since the 19th century.

All Samuel Smith’s beers are brewed solely from authentic natural ingredients without any chemical additives, raw material adjuncts, artificial sweeteners, colorings, flavorings or preservatives.

The TriMet MAX line is an easy ride for Craft Brewers Conference attendees coming from the Oregon Convention Center #72 & #4 bus lines run right to Saraveza and the MAX Yellow line N. Killingsworth stop is just a few blocks away.
