Deschutes Brewery Releases 2018 Jubelale – A Festive Winter Ale
Thirty-one years strong, Deschutes Brewery returns with its popular holiday seasonal, Jubelale – A Festive Winter Ale for the 2018 winter season.
The 2018 version of Jubelale continues with its 31-year tradition of brewing the same beer that is a delight to many fans across the country. Jubelale was the first brew ever bottled from the Bend based brewer. The beer is a robust brew with notes of cocoa, dried fruit, toffee and a warming spice.
Once again Jubelale will be the centerpiece of Deschutes Brewery’s community giving program that honors its longest-held company value of helping to build healthy communities. Deschutes donates about $350,000 every year to support land and water conservation, hunger relief and youth programs.
In years past Deschutes would hire a new artist to create the beer label of Jubelale. However, for the 2018 Jubelale label Deschutes Brewery invited 500 of its employees and they created this year’s label artwork.

Brewer Notes: Cocoa, dried fruit, and toffee notes. A robust ale with a warming spice.
Malt: Pale, Crystal, Extra Special, Carapils, Roasted Barley
Hops: Bravo, Cascade, Delta, US Tettnang, East Kent Goldings Cert.
ABV: 6.7%
IBU: 65

Hi, We were just sitting around and I was drinking our LAST Jubelale of the season (always one of my favorite beers). As I was gazing at the beautiful label and wondering about the artist chosen this year I noticed something. After a moment, it was clearly apparent. In white, in the center of this lovely label is reads “I NEED A DAD” After I discovered this I read that a large group of employees created this label together. Was this a somehow intended hidden message? Just curious. Please respond via email.
