Widmer Brothers Brewing Oktoberfest To Take Place In Pioneer Courthouse Square

12th Annual Widmer Brothers Brewing Oktoberfest 2016

Though the original Oktoberfest in Munich will come to a close on October 3rd this year, Widmer Brothers Brewing will host its 12th Annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 8, 2016. For the 12th year the event will move from the brewery to Portland’s Living Room at Pioneer Courthouse Square from Noon to 9:00pm.

Moving its Oktoberfest to a new larger and accessible location is something that Widmer Brothers founder Rob Widmer is excited for. “Oktoberfest started as a Bavarian wedding celebration but in Portland it has become a celebration of beer. Join us on October 8th from noon to 9pm in Portland’s living room at Pioneer Courthouse Square for pretzels, sausages and delicious Oktoberfestbier! Prost!,” wrote Rob Widmer in a release.

Widmer Brothers will be serving up some of its most well known beers including Hefeweizen, Steel Bridge Porter, Upheaval IPA, PDX Pilsner, and of course its Okto Festival Ale. There will also be some small-batch specialty beers from its new Innovation Brewery that will only available at Oktoberfest.

As with past Oktoberfest celebrations from Widmer, the 2016 edition will once again feature an amazing lineup of music. This year Widmer is teaming up with 94/7 FM Alternative Portland to bring in headline musicians X Ambassadors. Last year this hip hop influenced band reached number one on the Billboard Alternative Song Chart with its song Renegades. Local artists Foreign Talks and Quiet Type will join X Ambassadors at Oktoberfest
