Kells Brew Pub Rebrands To Kells Brewery

After brewing its first beers five years ago Kells Brew Pub will be rebranded as Kells Brewery beginning June 1, 2017. Tomorrow what will soon be known as Kells Brewery will have a new logo, an updated website and newly named social media handles (@kellsbrewery).

Established in August 2012 as an offshoot of Kells Irish Restaurant & Pub, this location at 201 NW 21st Avenue has been brewing up house-brewed beers on its 10-barrel brewhouse. At first the brewery brewed three beers, and Irish Red Ale, Irish Pale Ale and an Irish Lager. Since its beginnings the brew pub has added beer styles to offer a lineup of eight year-round styles, various seasonals, and at one time 6 packs that have recently been swapped out to 500 mL bottles of its IPA and Irish Red Ale

Through the years the brewerhouse has increased its capacity to over 1,200 barrels in 2016 with plans to increase to 1,400 barrels of beer brewed in 2017.

Regarding the reason behind the rebranding owner Garrett McAleese in a statement, “The brewery has really taken off, and now has much more of a presence outside of the pub than it did in the beginning. As we keep growing in distribution, it makes more sense to focus on the brand versus the venue.”

Kells Brewery’s new logo features a clean Celtic knot in the shape of a shamrock, an homage to the brewery’s Irish roots. The logo is featured on all new pint glasses, menus and signage.

Coinciding with this new rebranding, Kells Brewery has announced its summer hours, with all ages welcome from 11:30am to Midnight Sunday through Thursday, and 11:30am to 1:30am Friday and Saturday. It has also brought back the return of its popular late night happy hour.
