Ninkasi and Hopworks Bier Stein Tap Takeover

L to R: Ninkasi's Jamie Floyd, The Bier Stein's Chip Hardy, and Hopworks' Jaime Rodriguez

By Aaron Brussat

Jamie Floyd of Ninkasi (left) and Jaime Rodriguez of HopworksTwo Jamies invaded The Bier Stein on the evening of Wednesday July 13, 2011: Ninkasi’s Jamie Floyd and Hopworks’ Jaime Rodriguez. Five beers from each brewery flooded the taplist. Notable rarities were HUB’s Muscles from Brussels Belgian Strong Dark and Evelyn’s Imperial Sunshine IPA, plus Critical Hit Barleywine (440 pounds of hops in a 37 barrel batch!) and a gin barrel-aged version of the KLCC Collaboration session ale from Ninkasi. Floyd and Rodriguez met as brewers at Steelhead in Eugene and are now compatriots on the frontier of the craft beer revolution.
