Finnriver Farm & Cidery Happenings

As you may know, it has been my pleasure to have recently plunged into the exciting craft cider world as the West Coast Apple Ambassador for Finnriver Farm and Cidery. The craft cider category is presently experiencing a spirited revival. The Northwest Cider Association identifies cider as, “the fastest growing segment of the beverage market.”
Oregon Cider Week kicks off this Friday, 6/21 (with Cider Summit PDX) and runs through 6/30, with Independence Day just around the corner. Finnriver will be actively engaged in supporting this celebration of craft cider, a great American tradition and I thought the timing was apt to share a bit of “Finnriver Love” in hopes you will consider including these craft cider events in your life.
Here’s what we have going on for Oregon Cider Week:
o Fri 6/21 3-8pm & Sat 6/22 noon-6pm – PDX Cider Summit at Elizabeth Caruthers Park in Portland
o Mon 6/24 6-9pm – Cider Paired Plates with Finnriver’s Cidermaker at Bar Carlo in Portland $30 admission includes 5 cider paired plates and a bonus (surprise) cider
o Tues 6/25, 6-9pm – Meet Your Cidermaker with Finnriver at Bushwhackers in Portland
o Thurs 6/27 4-6pm Finnriver Tasting at First Alternative Co-op in Corvallis
o Thurs 6/27 7pm Finnriver Cider Flight Night at the Bier Stein in Eugene

Finnriver is an organic family farm and an artisan winery producing handcrafted hard ciders and fruit wines. Finnriver is proud to use organic juice, still hand batch each bottle and ferment all of the cider on our remote 33-acre family farm. We are committed to wise land stewardship through organic agriculture, conservation easements, habitat restoration and community outreach.
Finnriver has won some nice accolades in recent weeks, including Double Gold from Seattle Wine Awards and Best in the Northwest from SIP Magazine. Details below:

Finnriver is super pleased to be named “Best of the Northwest” in the Best Dry category for our méthode champenoise Artisan Sparkling Cider, by SIP Northwest Magazine. The selection process involved 31 professional palates tasting blind through more than 1,000 wine, beer, spirit and cider submissions. A lovely honor that we may just celebrate with a glass of cider bubbly!
