Chefs and judging panel selected for Morrison Child and Family Services Fundraiser

Deschutes BrewingDeschutes Brewery and Morrison Child and Family Services today announced the final chef and judge lineup for the Second Annual Deschutes Brewery Chefs Challenge. The Chefs Challenge is an Iron Chef-style beer pairing competition featuring six chefs from Portland’s top restaurants. The event will be held on December 13, 6:30 p.m. at the Deschutes Brewery Public House on 11th and Davis in Portland’s Pearl District.

These talented culinary experts compete to prepare the best dish and beer pairing of the evening:

  • Kurt Spak, Alba Osteria
  • Ben Dyer, Laurelhurst Market and Ate-Oh-Ate
  • Adam Higgs, Acadia
  • Jeff Usinowicz, Deschutes Brewery Portland Pub
  • Scott Shampine, Davis Street Tavern
  • Dave Anderson, Genoa

A panel of celebrity judges will decide which combination is the tastiest and most artfully prepared:

  • Leslie Cole from The Oregonian
  • Megan Flynn from Beer NW Magazine
  • Margo True from Sunset Magazine
  • Matt Zaffino from KGW
  • Gary Fish founder of Deschutes Brewery

Attendees can participate in the judging by casting their own vote for the coveted “People’s Choice Award.”

The event is a benefit for Morrison Child and Family Services, which provides a comprehensive range of services for abused and at-risk youth in the Portland area.
