More Adventures in Beer & Cheese

Back by popular demand, Oregon Beer Odyssey is bringing back a special Beer and Cheese class. OBO founder Ben Edmunds fills us in on the details and the allure of this dynamic combination.

Our last class about pairing sheep’s cheeses with artisan meats and excellent beers was so popular, that we’re doing a second class, this time featuring beers paired with goat cheeses. This is a great class to learn about the basics of food and beer pairing! Get ready to try some chevre, Humboldt fog, garrotxa, and more with world-class beers from near and far. You do not have to have taken the first Meat Cheese Beer class to enroll for this one. This is a fun class even for vegetarians, as the focus is really on cheese and beer!  Just like last time, we’re hosting the class on Tuesday night (June 1) at Saraveza. Class starts at 7 PM and runs two hours. Space is limited and will go fast so enroll today at www.oregonbeerodyssey.com!

If you’re interested, here’s a sampling of the seven pairing ‘trifectas’ from last class to give you a sense of what’s in store this week. It really is education through indulgence!

Roquefort, Val Dieu Grand Cru, Wild boar pate

Rocastin, Upright Four Play, Venetian Abruzzo

Ewephoria, Beer Valley Fresh Hop Black Flag Imperial Stout, Sweet Coppa

Zamorano, Hopworks IPA, Artisanal country ham

June Class Schedule Posted

We’re offering nine classes next month, including a new offering on hoppy beers for all you hopheads out there. Our other new class is still in the works, but expect something featuring lots of farmhouse ales to be hosted at Upright Brewing!
