Widmer's 9th Annual Oktoberfest

Widmer Oktoberfest

With Labor Day now behind us, we all know what we’ll be receiving in the months ahead. But before the nasty, rainy season hits, the month of  September is one to cherish as a beer fan. Hops are being harvested and this is the month we celebrate with our brethren from Germany. Well Munich to be exact. Yes, its Oktoberfest season.

This year marks Widmer Brothers Brewing’s 9th annual Oktoberfest block party, an event that draws more than 5,000 beer enthusiasts and is the largest Oktoberfest celebration in Portland. The festival features a variety of craft beers, German-style food, and live music throughout the day.

Widmer’s Oktoberfest takes place over two days on Friday, September 6th from 7:00pm-11:00pm and Saturday, September 7th from 3:00pm-11:00pm.

A souvenir stein is required for consuming beer. Attendees can also bring steins from previous years to the event. All beer and food is purchased with tokens, which cost $1 each. Patrons pay six tokens for a souvenir stein, six tokens for a full stein of beer and food items are $1-$7.
