Uptown Market to Open First Brewery in Beaverton, Oregon
Good news for craft beer lovers in Beaverton, Oregon, Uptown Market has just announced that they will be opening the first brewery in town during the summer of 2013. Believe it or not, there are no other breweries in the Portland suburb. Even cooler, the company says they will donate half of their profits during the first year of business to local charities. Uptown Market, a specialty brew store, today announced the opening of the first brewery in Beaverton, Oregon projected for completion July 2013. The brewery which currently includes an extensive list of beer and wine, as well as brewing supplies, espresso, friendly staff, and a full schedule of promotions, tastings, competitions and events, will now feature Uptown Market’s own finely crafted brews.
During its first year of operation, Uptown Market’s brewery will honor its inaugural year in the community by donating 50 percent of its profits to local charities. The brewery will continue to honor this ideal by hosting annual fundraisers and supporting other community initiatives.
“We are excited to not only evolve our offerings and open Beaverton’s first brewery, but also for the opportunity to give back to the local community that has been so supportive of Uptown Market over the years,” said Stuart Faris of Uptown Market. “We will continue to strive to meet the needs of our clients while being contributable members of this community.”
Uptown Market will be kicking off its sixty day Indiegogo campaign to raise additional funds to support the project, with the goal of raising $24,500 for capital improvements – about half of the total project costs. In addition to supporting the brewery, contributors will be able to vote on the campaign website for the charity they would most like to receive Uptown Market’s charitable donation, such as Children’s Cancer Association (CCA), Dress For Success, and I Have a Dream Foundation. The organization that gets the most votes will also receive a $500 check at the end of the campaign.
