Bazi to host 3rd Annual Saison Greetings

Bazi Saison Greetings 2015

Today is the first day of daylight savings time and Bazi Bierbrasserie has something special planned. Bazi will be hosting its 3rd Annual Saison Greetings from 4:00 to 9:00pm today. The taps will be taken over by farmhouse ales, both domestic and imported Belgian-inspired saison style beers.

The lineup of beers is quite amazing. This also may be your last chance to get a beer from Hof ten Dormaal in some time as this famed Belgian brewery was damaged by a fire in January of this year. Fortunately its brewing operations just started up once again this past Friday but it will take some time to get its delicious beers here to the States.

Here’s what to expect today to be pouring at Bazi.

10 Barrel Black Saison – 5.3% ABV , dark brown with roasted coffee scent and flavors, malty refreshing flavor from the saison yeast.

Baerlic Wildcat – 5.3% ABV, smoked Meyer lemon farmhouse ale

Breakside Tropicalia – 6% ABV, part of the farmhouse fruit and funk series #1 brewed with lychee and chilies.

The Commons Boysen – 10% ABV, strong dark farmhouse ale with boysenberries added. This beer has a silky body with bittersweet chocolate, dark fruit and berry jam flavors.

Lompoc and Bazi Forbidden Fruit Collaboration – 5.9% ABV, brewed with 64 lbs of black currant, ruby golden color, white lasting head, fruity aroma and taste, tart finish.

Logsdon Farmhouse Seizoen Bretta – 8% ABV, kegged March 2013, the pecial Brettanomyces yeast and pear juice provides added dryness and crisp complexity.

Oakshire Hermanne 1882 – 6.6% ABV, used Anne Amie Vineyards Muller Thurgau grapes to create this beer/wine hybrid. Light and crisp, with a complex fruity middle and dry tannic finish.

Du Boc Saison 1858 – named “World’s Beer Saison” World Beer Awards, 2013 and Gold Medal recipient at the World Beer Championship 2014 Gold Medal, 94 points and Top-Rated saison, World Beer Championships, May 2014.

Brasserie Dupont Saison – 6.5% ABV, a world classic beer and the yardstick for one of Belgium’s most important beer styles. It is the most admired AND imitated Saison in the world.

Hof Ten Dormaal Saison – 5.5% ABV, hazy gold, nose of field grass and lemon, touch of bitterness, medium to low carbonation.

Vipaeur Saison de Pipaix – 6% ABV, rich complex aroma and flavor with figs, raisins and spices.
