Agrarian Ales of Eugene Launches in Portland at Belmont Station

Agrarian Ales

It’s been a long time coming, but at last, Agrarian Ales of Eugene, Oregon is ready to launch their beer to the Portland market on February 23, 2013 at Belmont Station.

Hop Valley Brewing crew sampling Tilley's Chili Beer during Eugene Beer Week“We are stoked to introduce Agrarian Ales for their Portland debut.” says Belmont Station‘s Holly Emery-Walen, adding “This Eugene area brewery is new to the scene, but the people that comprise it are not.”

Ben Tilley and Tobias Schock, both former brewers with Hop Valley Brewing of Springfield, will be on hand at the event sharing their unique beers .  “Most of us are only familiar with large craft breweries that brew “estate” beers, meaning that the ingredients are harvested on their land and brewed there” says Emery-Walen. “Agrarian Ales breaks this notion down. They are a small brewery that has prioritized quality of ingredients, environmentally conscious practices, and historic styles of beer.”

Here’s more on Agrarian Ales, this forthcoming event, and a look at the beers to be featured, from an email sent recently out by Belmont Station: Read More…

Pepsi Distributor Bigfoot Beverages Looks to Compete in the Oregon Craft Beer Market

Bigfoot Beverages

Word has spread in the Oregon distribution scene that a Pepsi-Cola distributor of Eugene/Bend/coastal areas is getting into beer seeking to provide an alternative to distributor Odom and Point Blank and Columbia. Bigfoot Beverages moves 6.5 million cases per year of soft drinks and other non-alcoholic beverages, so it is safe to say that they know the distribution game. Now with the first two craft breweries added to their portfolio – Springfield, OR’s Hop Valley Brewing and Vail Valley, CO’s Crazy Mountain Brewing – Bigfoot looks to learn the nuances of beer.

Belmont Station’s Fringe Fest features Oregon Breweries not at Oregon Brewers Fest

Josh Pfriem of Phriem Family Brewers will have his Hood River brews at Belmont Station's Fringe Fest

Oregon Brewers Festival  (OBF) weekend is at the pinnacle of the state’s craft beer festivities for the year. Much like other prominent internationally acclaimed undertakings, the weekend is just as much about the satellite events happening about town as it is at the heart of OBF. One shining example of this phenomenon is Belmont Station‘s Fringe Fest taking place on Saturday July 28, 2012. This year’s fest on the fringe delivers many new faces in the ever-growing Oregon craft beer scene. Brewers Union Local 180, The Commons, Falling Sky, Harvester, Base Camp, Heater Allen, Solera, Hop Valley, and Pfriem Family Brewers will provide a range of unique styles including bold hoppy, cask, gluten-free, farmhouse, German-inspired, and more.

Here’s the details from our friends at Belmont Station. See you there! Read More…
