A portion of the grain used was roasted in the oven at Lompoc’s Fifth Quadrant, giving a slight biscuit flavor. The Oktoberfest release party will also feature complimentary appetizers like cheese and German sausages. If you’re lucky, Jerry might make an appearance in his lederhosen!
We’ll also be serving 2007 Fresh Hop Harvest Man Red, brewed in September 2007 with 100 pounds of Crystal fresh hops. It is malty and full bodied with a deep, rich red color; 2008 Saazilla, a double Pilsner that features Czech Saaz hops. It is aggressively hopped with seven hop additions, and it is the perfect beer for a warm summer day; Centennial India Pale Ale; Batch 69 Baltic Porter, a strong, dark beer with hints of chocolate and black licorice that was brewed with a lager yeast for a much cleaner, smoother finish than a traditional porter; and Pale Ryeder, a rye pale ale brewed with Crystal hops and 30% rye malt.
