Ecliptic Brewing Releases Oort Imperial Stout and Phobos Single Hop Red Ale in Bottles

Ecliptic Brewing Co.
There has been a lot of news coming from Portland’s Ecliptic Brewing during the first month of 2015. The brewery hired their first outside sales representative in local Portland resident and former Stone Brewing representative Erin Grey Kemplin. Its great to see that she is now working for a great local brewery that is pushing the envelope all the while satisfying their loyal customers.

Ecliptic Brewing also has just announced the release of its latest seasonal bottles, Oort Imperial Stout and Phobos Single Hop Red Ale.

“The Oort Imperial Stout and Phobos Single Hop Red Ale have rotated through the taps of Ecliptic, and we’re glad to now share these two beers at retail locations throughout the region,” said owner and head brewmaster John Harris.

Here are more details on the two beers from Ecliptic Brewing.

Oort Imperial Stout
Within Ecliptic’s new line of specialty beers, which are released every two months, Oort is named after the mysterious region of our solar system that breeds comets. Massive amounts of roasted barley and chocolate malts were combined with three types of caramel malts for a rich, full mouthfeel. Chinook, Cascade and Sterling hops lend a balanced bitterness and subtle hop flavor to this brew that’s as black as the vacuum of space.

Part of Ecliptic’s seasonal line-up, Phobos is named after the Martian moon that circles the red planet. Eight malts were used to give this beer a rich, red color and deep caramel flavor. Hopped to balance with the citrusy Azacca hops, Phobos finishes creamy and smooth.
