Falling Sky Brewing Takes Over the Taps at The Upper Lip

Falling Sky Brewing

This Saturday, May 3rd, The Upper Lip will be host to Falling Sky Brewing as this Eugene brewery will be taking over the taps above Bailey’s Taproom. From 2:00 to 10:00pm join Falling Sky along with their brewers, Scott Sieber and Michael Zarkesh, at The Upper Lip in downtown Portland for a tap takeover.

For this special event, Falling Sky will be bringing some unique and tasty beers for your enjoyment, including this year’s release of their much-sought-after Chicken Little Imperial IPA.

The Upper Lip

Falling Sky has been brewing beer in the heart of Eugene, OR for just over two years, and has gained a following for their commitment to brewing easy-drinking beers that are true-to-style and well rounded with a Northwest touch. Last year Falling Sky opened up the Pour House Delicatessen on the south end of Eugene’s Whiteaker neighborhood. Their new deli is a great spot to grab a sandwich along with a beer to help wash it down.

Saturdays draft list from Falling Sky at The Upper Lip will consist of the following five selections:

  1. Pips Orange Cacao Porter
Inspired by the iconic childhood treat, we used 30 lbs Cacao nibs, 9 lbs citrus peel, and vanilla beans for a complex adult beverage. Subtle citrus and chocolate aromas unwrap layered flavors of raw cacao, toasted malt with a lingering orange-chocolate finish.
  2. Daywalker Irish Red
Featuring the only barley grown and malted in Ireland, we created this solid drinker to highlight the new malt and ward off Gingervitis!
  3. Wild Oregon Logger
We crafted this Pre-Prohibition lager with all Oregon grown ingredients and an extra twist: Wild Rice from Eastern Oregon and Willamette hops for an enticing aroma of fruit and flowers. Raise a pint to celebrate our batch #200 and Drink Oregon!
  4. Chicken Little Imperial IPA
Huge aromas of ripe melons and guava lead the way with citrus, peaches, and a touch of alcohol warmth. Dry-hopped with a blend of coveted hops, this one is worth getting worked up over!
  5. Herbal Inspiration Gruit
At one time in history, the blend of herbs used to bitter and flavor the beverage, known as gruit, became a closely guarded secret for producing fine ales. Fruity, floral, herbal, and enlightening, this version is based on a Belgian Braggot and will take you places.
