N.W.I.P.A. Firestone Walker & Oregon IPA Challenge Events

N.W.I.P.A. on Foster Road in Southeast Portland, OR

N.W.I.P.A. will host two stellar events this week that you will not want to miss. The first event, taking place tonight, will feature one of our favorite breweries from California, Firestone Walker. Then on Saturday the final round of the Oregon IPA Challenge will take place.

Tonight from 6:00 to 9:00pm, N.W.I.P.A. will have Firestone Walker in the house for a Tap Takeover featuring all things Jack. The taps will be pouring all of the Jacks; Easy Jack, Union Jack, Double Jack and Wookey Jack. And best of all they’ll also be pouring the hard to find Stickee Monkey.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to try Stickee Monkey we suggest you do. Brewed with Belgian candi sugar and aged in a selection of fine bourbon barrels, Stickee Monkee trailblazes its own category as a “Central Coast Quad.” The name Stickee Monkee is a nod to the native Sticky Monkey flower that thrives in the mountains along California’s Central Coast, as well as a shout-out to the Belgian monks who pioneered the Quad style.

N.W.I.P.A. Oregon IPA Challenge

Then this Saturday, June 14th, N.W.I.P.A. will be bringing you the final round of their Oregon IPA challenge. The winners of the Portland and Bend rounds held in April and May will square off against a certain beer from Baker City along with a Wild Card IPA.

Once again, beers will be tasted blind from Noon to 8:00pm. This time we do know the beers though, or at least three of them. Portland’s winner, Breakside IPA, Bend’s winner, Crux Outcast, Barley Brown’s Pallet Jack and then the wild card IPA.

Tasters will be $6 and N.W.I.P.A. will crown the winner of Oregon’s best IPA shortly after 8:00 PM. Best of luck to all 4 competitors!
