Widmer Brothers Collaborates with Deschutes & New Releases in 30 Beers For 30 Years Series

Widmer Brothers Brewing is at once again with quite a few new releases to close out 2014. The brewery is in the midst of the next round of six releases in their ambitious 30 Beers for 30 Years Series. If this is not enough, Widmer is also set to release their six and final beer in their collaborative 30th Anniversary Collaboration Series with Deschutes Brewery.

Widmer Brothers’ 30th Anniversary celebration marches on as they release the next six beers in the 30 Beers for 30 Years Series. The new releases include: Hop Jack (2001), Cherry Bomb (2002), der Uber Tuber (2003), Sommerbrau (2004), Broken Halo (2005), and Re-Gifted Red (2006).

WIdmer & DEschutesHowever, the most exciting news is regarding the sixth and final release in Widmer’s 30th Anniversary Collaboration series, AltBitter. This release is a collaboration between two of Oregon’s most legendary breweries, Widmer and Bend’s Deschutes Brewery. AltBitter is a unique blend of barrel-aged, imperial versions of Deschutes Bachelor Bitter and Widmer Brothers Alt.

Widmer is hosting three launch parties to help kick-off the next round of each series. There will be two release parties in Portland and one in Bend. The first event is the release of the next six beers in the 30 Beers for 30 Years Series. The other two events are for the Oregon launch of AltBitter, the new collaboration beer between Deschutes Brewery and Widmer Brothers Brewing. The beer is a blend of imperial barrel-aged versions of Bachelor Bitter and Widmer Brothers’ Altbier. We will be pouring deconstructed tasters (and pints) with AltBitter, Widmer Brothers’ Alt, the imperial version of barrel-aged Alt, Deschutes Bachelor Bitter, and the imperial version of barrel-aged Bachelor Bitter.

Widmer Brothers is releasing six beers in its 30 Beers for 30 Years Series at once. All six beers will be tapped and flowing at First National Taphouse Beers include Hop Jack from 2001, Cherry Bomb from 2002, der Uber Tuber from 2003, Sommerbrau from 2004, Broken Halo from 2005, and Re-Gifted Red from 2006. Brewers from the Widmer Brothers team will be there; come out to meet them and try this great line-up of important beers from the brewery’s 30-year history.

During the launch party, the Widmer Brothers Pub will be pouring AltBitter along with a deconstruction of the beer that includes Widmer Brothers’ Alt, the imperial version of barrel-aged Alt, Deschutes Bachelor Bitter, and the imperial version of barrel-aged Bachelor Bitter.
