Crux Fermentation Project Releases 2017 [BANISHED] Tough Love and Snow Cave

Crux Fermentation Project is set to release its 2017 [BANISHED] Tough Love at events this week at its Tasting Room in Bend and at The BeerMongers in Portland. Then next week the Bend brewer will be at Special Brews in Lynwood, Washington for the beer’s launch. Crux has also released its winter ale, Snow Cave, for the very first time in bottles.

Coming up later this week Crux will release its 2017 vintage of [BANISHED] Tough Love. This annual favorite remains true to form — bold, yet wonderfully nuanced — with its own unique personality. After being “banished” to Kentucky Bourbon barrels for nearly a year, the beer brings forth rich overtones of dark roasted malt, oak-smoked wheat, and malted rye give way to delicate notes of velvety chocolate, vanilla, and dried cherries. At 11.5% ABV this beer will definitely take the winter chill away.

After last year’s run of bottles that were released in two sizes, this year Crux will release [BANISHED] Tough Love in the share-friendly size of 750mL bottles. The bottles will be corked, crowned, and wax-dipped with care. There will also be a nitro version on tap at our tasting room along with a small amount of nitro kegs will make their way into distribution.

Crux has also released this year’s Snow Cave. Having been a draft only offering in the past this year Crux has released the beer in bottles for the very first time. Snow Cave is a winter ale at 8.0% ABV that boasts an amazing spice character built from the Belgian yeast. Defintley at the top of our list when it comes to winter ales.
