Culmination Brewing Tap Takeover & Food Pairing To Celebrate National Beer Day at Altabira
As we approach National Beer Day later this week, Altabira City Tavern will celebrate the occasion when it hosts A tap takeover and food pairing featuring Culmination Brewing. National Beer Day is celebrated to honor the day, April 7, 1933 when it was once again legal to purchase 3.2% beer (4% ABV). This date predates the official repeal of Prohibition that took place later the same year on December 5th.
Beginning at 3:30pm and lasting until closing time on Thursday, April 7, Altabira will serve a flight of Culmination beers that can be paired with beer-inspired cuisine from chef Luis Escorcia. This special food and beer pairing menu will be able to be ordered at anytime throughout the evening and into the night. Culmination brewer, Paul Francis will be on hand to answer any questions you may have regarding Culmination Brewing as patrons can dine either inside the restaurant or its rooftop patio that offers an amazing view of downtown Portland.

Cold and Calculated Golden Ale
Pretzel with housemade beer mustard and pimento cheese
Baked macaroni and cheese with wild mushrooms, peas, leeks and bread crumbs
Euphoric Brett IPA
Ceviche of cod calamari and shrimp with chilies, avocado and tortilla chips
Braised lamb shank with fregula sarda, spring vegetables and mint pesto
Phaedrus IPA
Pork and lemongrass skewers with pickled papaya salad and crispy shallots
Roasted half chicken with herb gnocchi, fava beans, peas, cipollini onions and Meyer lemon vinaigrette
Choco Mountain Stout – Nitro
Al ceppo pasta with braised beef cheek, Pecorino Romano and marjoram
Chocolate peanut pretzel bomb with salted caramel and pretzel brownie
Altabira is the restaurant and bar this is part of the recently renovated Hotel Eastlund located in Portland’s Lloyd Center area. The bar features 16 craft beers on tap along with local wines and distilled spirits. Open daily for lunch and dinner, Altabira offers large floor to ceiling with gorgeous views of Portland’s downtown skyline and west hills.
