Ecliptic Brewing Partners With Dogfish Head For Power Lunch During Craft Brewers Conference

PORTLAND, Ore. (March 30, 2015) – As part of its participation in the Craft Brewers Conference (CBC), which visits Portland from April 14 through 17, Ecliptic Brewing will on April 16 at noon host a power lunch in collaboration with Dogfish Head.

The power lunch, with legendary craft brewers John Harris of Ecliptic Brewing and Sam Calagione of Dogfish Head, will feature three courses prepared by Ecliptic Brewing executive chef Michael Molitor paired with three beers from each brewery. Tickets are $35 each and available by calling 503.265.8002. Ecliptic Brewing is located at 825 N Cook St.

In 2013, Calagione sold Harris his brewhouse and – throughout the day on April 16 – the two will together brew a collaboration beer. Ecliptic Brewing Co.

Hosted at Saraveza Bottle Shop: 1004 N Killingsworth St.
Ecliptic will sample its Pegasus ESB.
Sponsored by Merchant Du Vin, the event will feature Sam Smith beer poured alongside English-inspired beers from Ecliptic Brewing, Anderson Valley, Breakside Brewery, Ninkasi, Rogue, Sierra Nevada and No-Li.
No entry fee.

April 16 (5:00 p.m.) – Dogfish Head & Victory Brewing Present: Amber Waves
Hosted at Castaway Portland: 1900 NW 18th Ave.
Ecliptic will sample its Phobos beer.
Each brewery will contribute an amber-colored beer, along with a custom art piece commissioned exclusively for a silent auction to be held during the event.
All proceeds from the event benefit the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art (PICA). Tickets are $25 each, and available by visiting: www.craftbrewersconference.com/events/amber-waves.

April 17 (2:00 p.m.) – ADHA/APEX Experimental and New Hop Showcase
Hosted at APEX: 1216 SE Division St.
Sample beers brewed with some new and experimental hops from the American Dwarf Hop Association, including Azacca, Jarrylo, Pekko, ADHA527, ADHA529 and ADHA484.
Breweries showcasing beers brewed with these hops include Ecliptic Brewing, Bagby Beer Company, Bear Republic, Cigar City, Coppertail, 3 Floyds, Founders, Alameda, The Post Brewing Co., Stone, The Hop Concept, Wicked Weed, Victory, Phillips, OXBOW, Lagunitas, Iron Goat, Tributary and The Unknown.
No entry fee.

April 17 (6:00 p.m.) – Pioneers of Craft Beer
Hosted at Horse Brass Pub: 4534 SE Belmont St.
Together with Ecliptic Brewing, Deschutes Brewing, Alaskan Brewing Company, Widmer Brothers Brewing, Anchor Brewing, Rogue Ales & Spirits, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, BridgePort Brewing Company, Hale’s Brewery, The Pike Brewing Company, Bell’s Brewing, Hair of the Dog Brewing Company, Full Sail Brewing Company and Dogfish Head, Horse Brass will tap beers from each brewery’s beginnings, as well as one of their current offerings.
No entry fee.

Throughout the weekend of CBC, Ecliptic will also be pouring guest taps from Russell Schehrer Award for Innovation in Craft Brewing winners. Russell Schehrer was a founding partner and the original head brewer at Denver’s Wynkoop Brewing Company. Each year, the Russell Schehrer Award for Innovation in Craft Brewing is presented to an industry member who has exhibited innovation and excellence in the field of craft brewing. Harris won the award 14 years ago, and additional former winners include: Mitch Steele (Stone Brewing Company), Peter Bouckaert (New Belgium Brewing Co.), Garrett Oliver (The Brooklyn Brewery) and Dick Cantwell (Elysian Brewing Company).
