With football season in full swing, there’s a new cookbook out on the market that features 165 different recipes that are great for game day gatherings. There are also a handful of recipes that feature the inclusion of beer! Then there’s an entire chapter dedicated to drinks. Written by Daina Falk, The Hungry Fan’s Game Day Cookbook published by Oxmoor House is now on bookshelves and ready for download to your mobile device.
Since birth Falk grew up around the sports world, as her father is well known sports agent David Falk. Through his career he represented many top athletes and is best known for his work with Michael Jordan. Being in and around the sports world allowed for Daina to meet many of these athletes.
To make her very own mark in the world she founded the sports lifestyle brand Hungry Fan® and has now taken this concept to book format with 165 recipes in The Hungry Fan’s Game Day Cookbook. To assist in the recipes the book features ones from current and past professional athletes such as the previously mentioned Jordan along with LeBron James, Boomer Esiason, Robert Griffin III, and Andre Agassi. Each recipe is designed for either cooking at home for the big game or taking on the road to your tailgate. It is said that 240 million Americans now enjoy tailgating each year. That calls for a lot of food and beer.
The recipes contained in The Hungry Fan’s Game Day Cookbook run the gamut of food choices for watching sports with family and friends. Of the 165 recipes, there are about a dozen recipes that integrate beer with the dish. Falk must be a fan of Guinness Stout as four recipes feature the iconic beer from Dublin, Ireland. These include Beer Sno-Cones, Shepherd’s Pie, Cheese Curds, and Guinness Cupcakes topped with Bailey’s Frosting.
Other beer related recipes include Tachos using a dark lager, adding spiced to create your very own Pumpkin Beer, and one we look forward to trying out, Beer Battered Cajun-Style Deep-Fried Okra!
