Oregon Breweries Receive 24 Awards at the 2025 World Beer Cup

After the close of the 2025 Craft Brewers Conference and BrewExpo America in Indianapolis, Indiana yesterday, the 2025 World Beer Cup awards ceremony took place at the Indiana Convention Center. Throughout 14 sessions spanning seven days, a panel of 265 judges from 37 countries methodically evaluated 8,375 entries from 1,761 breweries and cideries across 49 nations and bestowed 349 awards.

“The World Beer Cup competition continues to showcase the global industry’s dedication to innovative craftsmanship, diverse flavors, and technical excellence,” said Chris Williams, World Beer Cup competition director. “This roster of 2025 winners represents the pinnacle of craft brewing and cideries, demonstrating what’s achievable through dedication and passion. Congratulations to this year’s award winners; they have once again helped set the standard for excellence in their craft, inspiring innovation and fostering healthy competition within the industry.”

Regionally her in the Pacific Northwest, breweries in Oregon and Washington did quite well. Washington breweries were presented with 26 World Beer Cup awards – 8 Gold, 10 Silver, and 8 Bronze – while Oregon breweries were presented with 24 World Beer Cup awards – 8 Gold, 9 Silver, and 7 Bronze. On top of these awards, Oregon cider makers, yes, Cider is now part of the World Beer Cup, took home 9 awards. Of these, there were 4 Gold, 2 Silver, and 3 Bronze.

Breaking these numbers down a bit further, Breakside Brewery of Milwaukie and Portland took home an astonishing 6 World Beer Cup awards. This haul included 3 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze. Out in Hood River, pFriem Family Brewers were presented with 3 awards – 2 Gold and 1 Silver. Also being awarded 3 awards were Deschutes Brewery from its facilities in both Bend and Portland with 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze. Rounding out multiple award wins is ColdFIre Brewing with 1 Silver and 1 Bronze from its brewing operations in both Eugene and Junction City.

Washington State breweries had four breweries that took home multiple awards. This list of two awards each includes Victor 23 Brewing with a Gold and Bronze, Cloudburst Brewing with a Gold and Silver, Reuben’s Brews with a Gold and Silver and Silver City Brewery with a Gold and Silver.

In the five cider categories at the World Beer Cup, Oregon cider makers were presented with 9 awards and swept the Tanic Cider and No/Low-Tannin Cider categories. Pretty damn good when you consider there were only 15 total awards presented. 2 Towns Ciderhouse took home 6 awards that included 3 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze. Portland Cider Co. also took home multiple awards with 1 Gold and 1 Silver.
