#beeritforward During American Craft Beer Week 2017
|The 12th annual American Craft Beer Week (ACBW) returns May 15-21, 2017 to celebrate small and independent craft breweries from all 50 states. During this seven-day event beer fans are encouraged to #beeritforward and share a craft beer with friends and family.
Each year ACBW is presented by the Brewers Association (BA) and now its consumer website CraftBeer.com. This annual celebration is intended to bring together and celebrate all of the 5,300 craft brewers as defined by the BA through a week of events. For us here in the Pacific Northwest this week is not celebrated with strong enthusiasm, mainly because our culture is already deep rooted in craft beer with all of the various events that take place year round.
“Small, independent brewers are known for their commitment to their communities. They beer it forward year-round through grassroots initiatives and charity work that in turn have a significant impact on our local economies,” said Julia Herz, publisher of CraftBeer.com and craft beer program director at the Brewers Association, in a statement. “This American Craft Beer Week, we invite the beer-loving public to embrace the theme, and find ways to ‘beer it forward’ as part of the fun.”
To help beer lovers make the right sharing choices, CraftBeer.com put together a handy chart to guide them through the expansive selection process. CraftBeer.com has you covered, simplifying the decision making into a few easy to follow steps. For help in choosing the right craft beer to share, visit CraftBeer.com’s Guide to Sharing.
For 2017, CraftBeer, com has partnered with Geeks Who Drink, a pub trivia organization, to incorporate ACBW into its trivia at more than 800 locations across the country including here in Oregon. From Monday to Thursday, there will be one round of Pub Trivia dedicated to ACBW. Participating locations can be found on the Quiz Schedule.
