Block 15 Brewing Presents 2019 Bourbon Month
The shortest month of the year is upon us and with the changing of the monthly calendar means that 2019 Bourbon Month will arrive at Block 15 Brewing in Corvallis. Each February Block 15 Brewing dedicates the month’s 28 days to bourbon. This includes food and drink pairings, bourbon barrel aged beers, bourbon-inspired food specials, and a curated selection of rare, world-class bourbons. Sounds delicious!
Beginning on Friday, February 1st, grab your Bourbon Passport at Block 15 Brewing or Caves Bier & Kitchen. Drink and document all of the beer and bourbon on this year’s passport and win an exclusive t-shirt, plus invitation to a special bourbon tasting. Remember you have 28 days to complete this.
Also, on Friday, Block 15 will release Winter Amusement 2019, a Saison Blended with Oak Aged Spontaneous Ale that was brewed in collaboration with de Garde Brewing. This is the first release in the two brewery’s new Amusement series of beers that will be a rotating seasonal project that blends friendship, technique, and beer from both breweries.
The inaugural release, Winter Amusement 2019, features a winter saison from Block 15 blended with nearly two year old spontaneously fermented and oak aged wild ale from de Garde. You can find bottles at both breweries, starting this Friday!

Super Nebula, Breakfast with Roses 2019 – Imperial Stout Brewed with Maple Syrup, Matured in Bourbon Barrels, and Conditioned on Cocoa Nibs and Coffee Beans
This special variation of Super Nebula was brewed with organic maple syrup, matured in Four Roses bourbon barrels, and then conditioned on organic direct trade Tanzanian cocoa nibs and coffee from Bespoken Coffee Roasters that was aged in freshly-emptied Super Nebula Barrels prior to roasting.

Super Nebula, Double Chocolate Hazelnut 2019 – Imperial Stout Matured in Bourbon Barrels and Conditioned on Cocoa Nibs, Chocolate, and Hazelnut
This special variation of Super Nebula was matured in Four Roses bourbon barrels and then conditioned on organic direct trade Tanzanian cocoa nibs, liquid cacao, and organic hazelnut extract—rich additions that layer on notes of dutched chocolate, ganache, dark fruit, and toasted nuts.

Kriek, a Spontaneous Cuvée – Oud Bruin Ale Spontaneously Fermented in Bourbon Barrels with Cherries
Kriek, a Spontaneous Cuvee is an oud bruin inspired wild ale that was spontaneously fermented in bourbon barrels first used to mature Super Nebula. After conditioning over two winters on local Montmorency cherries from the Cherry County, we blended barrels of Kriekat their peak of character, marrying the unique expression of our wild cellar’s resident flora with the essence of fresh tart cherries and a subtle hint of bourbon.
6.5% ABV – $11.50 / 500mL bottle – 3 bottles / person
The DAB Lab, Juice Joint – Progressive IPA ftg. Hop Extractions
The DAB Lab series focuses on vibrant hop-forward ales that prominently feature hop extractions. Juice Joint pairs dank, citrusy, and tropical varietals—a heady hop combination that’s packed with hop character of resin-dipped pineapple skunk and freshly squeezed twisted citrus.
7% ABV – $4.00, plus deposit / 16oz can – no limit
