Cyber Monday With Culmination Brewing’s Release of Multnomah County Stout
With Black Friday now behind us Cyber Monday is upon us and to celebrate this big online shopping day Culmination Brewing will releases its new Multnomah County Stout – Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout in both 22 oz. bottles and on draft. Though the brewery is promoting this release on Cyber Monday, this release will only be available for purchase in person at the brewery and four other Portland area locations that includes Bailey’s Taproom (part of its week long Dark Days), Belmont Station, and Tin Bucket in Portland and NW Growlers in Sherwood, OR, on Monday, November 28th.
Multnomah County Stout is Culmination Brewing’s answer to one very popular offering from Goose Island and its Bourbon County Brand Stout. Part of the Culmination’s Rare & Vintage series, Multnomah County Stout is labeled as a Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout that sits at a 11.5% ABV. Last week we were informed that base beer, a version of Culmination’s Choco Mountain Milk Stout, sat for approximately 7 months in two former George Dickel Whisky barrels, therefore it’s more appropriately a whiskey barrel aged beer.
On to the beer itself, Multnomah County Stout, pours a deep, black color with a slight bit of tan head. The nose is full of chocolate and roastiness with a tinge of whiskey. As the beer warms more dried fruits and fig notes come forth. Not as much robust body and richness as Bourbon County Brand Stout, but with its own enticing characteristics, a fine beer worth seeking out nonetheless.
Culmination Brewing only bottled 30 cases worth of Multnomah County Stout and each of the non-brewery locations will receive only 4 cases and 1/6 barrel each. The suggested retail will be approximately $13.00 per 22 oz. bottle. At Culmination there will be a limit of 3 bottles per person.
