One of the nation’s best beer bars and beer stores, Belmont Station, celebrates 26 years with three special anniversary beers from Kings & Daughters, Living Haus, and Hetty Alice. If your travels take to the north side of Mt. Hood, Solera Brewery celebrates its 11th anniversary. While in Eugene, The Bier Stein will host Block 15 as part of the brewery’s 15th anniversary with the debut of Crystal Ball IPA.

Here’s a listing of our top beer picks!

The Bier Stein and Block 15 Crystal Ball IPA Release Party
Thursday, April 13 – 5:00-8:00pm
The Bier Stein and Block 15 Brewing have partnered on a new beer, Crystal Ball IPA. Brewed in conjunction with Block 15’s 15-year anniversary celebration, the beer pays homage to the long-standing relationship between the two, with staff from The Bier Stein assisting in recipe creation, artwork design, and the brew day.

Crystal Ball IPA features classic West Coast IPA hops, Chinook, Amarillo, and Cascade, and is then fermented on the thiolized Horningdal Kviek yeast from Omega Yeast Labs. A yeast that alchemically pulls tropical notes out of these traditionally piney, stonefruit and citrus forward hops. The combination of these ingredients results in a beautifully balanced IPA, with visions of tropical fruit and intense citrus.

For the release party, the Block 15 crew will be at The Stein sampling, giving away prizes via the prize wheel, and answering any technical questions about the sorcery conjured while creating this magic elixir. There will also be a tarot card reader in the house to answer all of your questions about the past, present, and future.

Belmont Station 26th Anniversary
Friday, April 14 – Noon-11:00pm
Belmont Station has been providing Portlanders with excellent beer options for the past 26 years. On Friday it’ll celebrate its 26th anniversary as it partners with three local breweries – Kings & Daughters, Living Haus and Hetty Alice – on three different anniversary beers.

Here is some info on the beers:

Kings & Daughters – Greetings From Belmont Station
DDH Soft IPA / 5.3% ABV
Before brewing professionally, Kyle worked at Belmont Station. Being asked to make a beer celebrating their 26th anniversary is such an honor (and a special full-circle moment)

Belmont Station has been a staple of the Portland craft beer scene for over a quarter of a century. They are a unique neighborhood hub for beer lovers, and making a unique double dry hopped soft IPA felt like the right way to mark their birthday.

Brewed with YCH Simcoe Cryo, Mosaic Incognito, El Dorado Incognito, Citra LupoMax, WVH Galaxy, YCH Sabro & Hollingbery Cascade.

Living Haus – Nancy
West Coast IPA / 6.5% ABV
This IPA was brewed with a base of 2-row, Oat Malt, and just a splash of C10(because we’re edgy like that). Nancy was hopped Mosaic Incognito and Pellets along with Citra and Strata. The resulting beer is an incredibly drink IPA with notes of mango, fruit punch, and a touch of resin.

Nancy is named after Lisa Morrison’s mom.

Hetty Alice – Belmont Lager
Light Lager / 4.9% ABV
Featuring Mandarina Bavaria and Nelson Sauvin.

Brewed in celebration of Belmont Station’s glorious 26 years of craft beer stewardship, Belmont Lager pours a radiant straw gold with pristine white foam. Aromas of orange blossom, passionfruit and white grape precede notes of ripe citrus, fresh sourdough, and white pepper. The finish is bright, spicy, and concise.

In addition to these three beers on tap. the fine staff at Belmont Station have selected their favorite beers to be served. What did they pick? You’ll have to come by and see for yourself!
