Deluxe Brewing Releases April Showers Shandy
Deluxe Brewing Company recently hosted the Willamette Valley Oregon chapter of the Pink Boots Society to brew April Showers Shandy. This new beer will make its debut at Deluxe Brewing on Saturday, April 8, 2023 with a free tasting event from 1:00-3:00pm.
Attendees will have the opportunity to sample April Showers Shandy, meet the brewer and participating Pink Boots Chapter members, as well as purchase growler fills to take home. There will be games available to play including a cribbage scrimmage, table tennis, shuffleboard and corn hole, weather permitting. Dee Marriott of V Family Farm will be in attendance, with custom bouquets and fresh produce available for purchase ahead of Easter Sunday.
Deluxe Brewing’s April Showers Shandy is brewed with an American wheat ale base, including two row malt and wheat, and is hopped with the official Pink Boots 6th Annual Blend of Yakima Chief Hops featuring a bouquet of delightful aromas including Loral®, Ekuanot®, and HBC 586 hop varieties. During secondary fermentation, a citrusy pink lemonade, made with dried hibiscus flowers is added. The resulting beer is a thirst quenching, not-too-sweet, refreshingly juicy beer with a gorgeous pink hue at a sessionable 4.5% ABV.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of April Showers Shandy will go directly to the Willamette Valley chapter to help fund scholarships that support the Pink Boots mission to assist, inspire, and encourage the professional development and education of women and non-binary individuals within the industry. For each April Showers Shandy pint sold during the tasting event on April 8th, 2023, Deluxe Brewing will donate $1, as well as $2 for each growler filled. For each keg sold, while supplies last, Deluxe Brewing will also be donating a portion of the proceeds toward the Willamette Valley Pink Boots Society chapter.
