Last Call For 2019 Tabs for Trees From Rainier Beer
In addition to filling the beer needs of Pacific Northwesterners, Rainier Beer is also keen on planting trees throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. Rainier Beer is once again partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation and local environmental stewardship groups on its fifth annual Tabs for Trees.
Since 2014, Rainier has planted more than 100,000 trees across the Pacific Northwest as part of Tabs for Trees. This year, Rainier’s goal is to plant an additional 20,000 trees – 5,000 each across Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana.
Through the end of March, Rainier Beer cans feature a special red Tabs for Trees tab. Lovers of the outdoors and beer are invited to support Tabs for Trees by collecting the red tabs and turning them in at one of over 200 participating bars and restaurants across the region.
“Caring for the environment and the communities in the Northwest is central to Rainier’s culture and true to our brand,” said Rainier Brewing Company’s Brand Manager Michael Scott in a statement. “The Tabs for Trees program provides a special opportunity for us to make a positive impact on the health and future of our forests while sharing the experience with our employees, our loyal customers as well as newcomers to the region we call home.”
For every 24 tabs collected (the number of cans in a case of beer) and returned to Rainier, one tree will be planted to help sustain the forests of the Pacific Northwest.
“We salute Rainier and their stewardship of America’s forests,” said Dan Lambe, president, Arbor Day Foundation in a statement. “Because of their Tabs for Trees initiative and the trees planted the air and water in the Pacific Northwest will be cleaner and natural wildlife habitat will be restored.”
