After opening its doors to its brewpub over five years ago, Aslan Brewing opens its third location today and its first outside of Bellingham, Washington. Aslan Brewing Seattle, located in the city’s Fremont neighborhood held a soft opening over the weekend and will officially open its doors today at 11:00am.

Aslan Brewing opened in Bellingham in 2014 and a few years later opened Aslan Depot just a few blocks away. Now the Certified B Corporation brewer opens its first location outside of their hometown in the brewery’s largest market, Seattle. This new location is a 21+ taproom serving from 10 choices of 100% certified organic beer from Aslan. In addition to these draft offerings there is an interesting bottle list, cans of Aslan brewed Don’s N/A English Brown Ale, cider, June’s Hard Kombucha, and natural wine.

The newly constructed building known as the Cedar Speedster building is located yards away from Brouwer’s Café. Aslan will share the building with two yet to open restaurants, Local Tide and Revel, along with outdoor merchant evo.

Local Tide will be directly next door and customers will be able to order food and eat it in the taproom when they open. Revel will be at the other end of the building as its sort of a homecoming for the restaurant as it was located on the same property but relocated prior to the redevelopment.

Inside the new taproom, the space is filled with sustainable building materials. Most noticeable is the wood that was used to construct the bar, tables and benches. These were all made with salvaged Douglas Fir from a roof that was built in the 1900s. Then the steel that is used to build the table bases and bench base were salvaged from razed buildings in Seattle.

On tap you’ll find ten selections from Aslan Brewing including a lager that can be slow poured for perfection! Aslan will be serving beers mainly in .3L and .5L sizes and barrel aged bees are offered in 12oz pours. Lagers are priced $5 and $6 and ales are priced $6 and $7. Barrel aged beers are $8 or $9 per 12oz pour.

During our visit this past week we enjoyed a wide array of beers. Our favorite beer was Fremontii, a limited barrel-aged beer. Named after a cottonwood tree, Fremontii was brewed with the assistance of The Masonry Pizza and Brouwer’s Café. This dark sour was a blend of three barrels that offers up complex flavors of bourbon and a bit of tartness from the Brettanomyces. This beer is also available in bottles.

Aslan Brewing Seattle is open Sunday – Thursday from 11:00am-11:00pm and Friday – Saturday from 11:00am-Midnight. Happy Hour is from 4:00-6:00pm. Aslan Brewing Seattle offers beers to go, including many of the brewery’s barrel-aged releases and will be serving Seattle’s famous Salumi sandwiches every day until sold out.
