Bent Shovel Brewing to Open a new Beer Garden in Estacada, Oregon

A few weeks ago Bent Shovel Brewing announced that it was closing its Tasting Room in rural Oregon City with hopes of finding a new location in the near future. Due to the traffic impact in its rural setting, this closure was forced upon the brewery by Clackamas County.

Today, the brewery has announced that it will open the Bent Shovel Brewing Beer Garden as it leases space at the Viewpoint Restaurant and Lounge. This new location is just seven minutes from the brewery at 20189 S Springwater Rd. in Estacada, Oregon. This announcement will definitely be a benefit for the small brewery as it gain additional in-house sales in today’s more competitive marketplace.

Bent Shovel owners Rick and Shelly Strauss plan to operate it as the Bent Shovel Brewing Beer Garden seasonally through the winter and spring while they continue their search for a permanent long-term home.

“We’d like to thank the kind folks at the Viewpoint for stepping up and helping us out as one small business to another,” said Rick Strauss, in a statement. “We have really missed our customers these past two week and can’t wait to see everyone gather around the bonfire for a pint.”

The Bent Shovel Brewing Beer Garden will be open beginning on November 8 th on Fridays from 2pm to 6pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm to 6pm. The area features tented tables, a bonfire, and Bent Shovel beer, all served under a canopy of fir trees. Food will be available from the Viewpoint restaurant next door. The beer garden is family-friendly and leashed-dog friendly as well.

Its brewery will continue to be operational outside of Oregon City as it brews its array of beers styles on its 10-barrel system in a retrofitted red barn located along the Clackamas River.
