Guinness Storehouse Celebrates 25 Years as Ireland’s #1 Attraction
When tourists visit Dublin, Ireland, the one location that attracts the most visitors is the Guinness Storehouse. Yes, the home to the iconic beer, Guinness, is where1.65 million visitors convened during 2024.
The history at Guinness is amazing and quite legendary. Arthur Guinness founded the St. James’s Gate Brewery, the home of Guinness, in the year 1759. As legend has it, Guinness signed a 9,000-year lease on the original 4-acre plot of land in the midst of the growing city of Dublin.
Since the signing of that lease now over 266 years ago, the brewery the built its name on its stout took off. Now the brewery sits on a 50-acre site and is home to the Guinness Storhouse, an impressive seven floor tourist attraction that is full of brewing history and amazement. It is also home to the famous Gravity Bar, where visitors can enjoy unparalleled panoramic 360⁰ views of Dublin!
The Guinness Storehouse opened its doors on New Year’s Day of 2000. Now as it entered its 25th year, it has welecomed over 25 million visitors to immerse themselves in brewing history.
During the past 12 months, the Guinness Storehouse saw a 10% increase in total visitor numbers, welcoming 1.65 million visitors to Dublin from across the world. There, 1.5 million pints of Guinness and Guinness 0.0 were served, an impressive 102,000 new pint pouring experts were certified by the Guinness Academy. Romance was in the air as The Gravity Bar witnessed 12 proposals, each one said yes, as well as welcoming its most senior guest at 98 years young.

The Guinness Storehouse has continued its focus on curating premium experiences and cultural events with world class artists and exciting Irish talent to attract international visitors and appeal to domestic audiences.
Highlights from elevated seasonal moments like St. Patrick’s Festival and Christmas, included a previously unreleased John Gilroy illustration featuring a giant inflatiable snake adorning the roof of Gravity Bar and 1,000 Christmas decorations that were on display at The Storehouse were made within 1km radius filling the experience with festive cheer. Alongside the launch of an innovative new Ingredients Floor that immerses guests in the brewing process of Guinness. These experiences helped contribute towards an uplift in attracting visitors from the UK, USA and beyond.
Now, the Home of Guinness is set to write a bold new chapter in its extraordinary journey, with over 265-years of stories from the Guinness archives coming alive across seven floors, through Alive in 25, an exciting year-long campaign that sets to celebrate even more cultural events and community initiatives.
