Baerlic Brewing To Release Dark Thoughts Black IPA

Baerlic Brewing has brewed up a beer that is perfect for this frigid weather we’ve been experiencing with its new Dark Thoughts Black IPA. On Thursday, January 5th, Baerlic will release this new dark, roasty yet hoppy beer beginning at 4:00pm at its taproom in Southeast Portland.

In the making of Dark Thoughts Black IPA, Baerlic Brewing cold steeped roasted wheat for up to 36 hours. We are told that the brewery was able to extract the rich chocolate, sweet and fruity flavor compounds while leaving behind the harsh and tannic flavors of the roasted malt from utilizing this slow and torturous process. For reference compare rich cold-brewed coffee vs. that of the gas station variety.

Dark Thoughts Black IPA is available in 22 oz. bottles and on draft at Baerlic Brewing’s Taproom and at area retailers, bars and bottleshops.

Dark Thoughts Black IPA Stats:
