The popularity of American Light Lager has fully hit Block 15 Brewing! The Corvallis, Oregon based brewery has added Green Truck American Light Lager to its year-round line up. Block 15’s take on this classic American style beer, Green Truck made its debut in May 2024. Green Truck, named after the brewery’s trusty forklift, is an easy-drinking lager at just 4.2% ABV that’s brewed with the best Pacific Northwest grains, hops, and water.

“We are excited that our Green Truck American Light Lager is ready to join our year-round perpetual offerings after a year of testing and evolution,” said Nick Arzner, Co-Owner and Founding Brewer at Block 15, in a prepared statement. “The beer highlights our brewery’s regional sustainability efforts, and our fans appreciate its easy-drinking ABV. It’s light, refreshing, and a high-quality beer crafted with NW malts, hops, and solar power. It’s a great beer to kick back with friends and family, and to regularly add to your craft beer rotation.”

Green Truck American Light Lager Description

Green Truck is a part of Block 15’s Lagered by the Sun program, representing its commitment to sustainable brewing practices by sourcing local and regional ingredients, utilizing solar energy in the lagering process, and implementing mindful brewing practices extending to the shelves and taps. Green Truck is primarily brewed with Pure Idaho Pilsner malt, a 100% Idaho-grown barley from Great Western Malting.

Green Truck is a high-gravity brew watered back with filtered and deaerated water. The water Block 15 uses at their Production Brewery in Southtown Corvallis comes from the Taylor Treatment Plant and the Rock Creek Treatment Plant. Taylor, located in Southeast Corvallis, draws water from the Willamette River, accounting for approximately 69% of their total water supply. 31% comes from Rock Creek, which draws from the east side of Mary’s Peak, the highest point in the Coast Range.

Block 15 chose Contessa hops for Green Truck, a United States-grown hop variety with Noble hop characteristics developed in Yakima Valley, Washington. The beer also features a strain of yeast tailored explicitly for light-lager production. All together, the ingredients in Green Truck add subtle notes of green tea, pear, and lemongrass to a crisp malt base.
