Cascade Lakes Brewing Packages Midnight Drift Barrel-Aged Barley Wine
Though the brewery has been around for over 25 years, Cascade Lakes Brewing is excited to release its first packaged barrel-aged beer with its Midnight Drift. This beer will hit the marketplace in 12oz cans.
In brewing Midnight Drift, this beer spend time aging in bourbon barrels from Oregon Spirit Distillery. This marks the second beer aged from Cascade Lakes that spent time in barrels from the Central Oregon distiller as it showcases the talents of its Brewmaster, Ryan Schmiege. Prior to joining the team at Cascade Lakes, Schmiege spent time honing his skills at Deschutes Brewery.
Midnight Drift Description:
Put on some slippers, light the fire and drift into this barrel aged barley wine. The color is enveloping; a smoldering, uncontaminated Baltic amber hue enhanced only by the glow of flames licking at logs. Biscuits, honey-roasted nuts and a touch of caramel embrace the tender kiss of oak and graceful impact of a bourbon embrace. 9.2% ABV
