Ferment Brewing Has Five New Beer Releases for the 2025 Memorial Day Weekend
|Heading into Memorial Day Weekend, Ferment Brewing Company has five new beers being released for the warmer days ahead. The Hood River, Oregon brewer has just released White River Saison, Calliope IPA, La Palapa Mexican-Style Lager, and Guajava while Hefeweizen will debut on Memorial Day.
These five beers are Ferment Brewing’s latest seasonal offerings and one in particular highlights the brewery’s commitment to experimentation, tradition, and sustainability. White River Saison is a classic saison, highly effervescent, 5% ABV, and inspired by the small farmhouse breweries of Belgium’s Wallonia region. It’s released every year in limited 500 mL refillable bottles. Malts and hops from the Belgian, French, and German countryside are combined and fermented with yeast captured from the wind on the slopes of Mt. Hood. The beer is highly complex while remaining refreshing with notes of honeysuckle, pepper, and citrus zest.
This year, and moving forward, White River Saison is released in refillable bottles through the Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative (OBRC). Bottles can be returned to the Ferment tasting room in Hood River, at any OBRC bottle drop, or consumers can sign up for the OBRC green bag program at home. “At Ferment, our commitment to sustainability and community impact is part of our core, so we are proud to be part of the OBRC Bottle Drop network,” said Ferment Operations Director, Jenn Peterson. “Our Farmhouse series beers, which are best suited for glass, are now packaged in the specialty refillable bottles, which have a 95% lower carbon footprint and require 92% less energy and 82% less water than conventional bottles.”
Alongside White River Saison, Ferment also has a number of new release beers available, or soon to be available, in digitally printed 16 ounce, 4-pack cans:
- Calliope IPA – Available Now – A bright and juicy IPA with Simcoe and Mosaic hops and a prominent dry hop burst of El Dorado hops for notes of apricot, pineapple, balanced by a gentle bitterness.
- La Palapa Mexican-Style Lager – Available Now – Offering a taste of sunshine and a beach vacation, a refreshing light lager brewed with flaked maize with a crisp, snappy finish.
- Guajava – Available Now – A rich and fruity American Sour Ale brewed with pink guava and dry hopped with Hüll Melon.
- Hefeweizen – Available Monday, May 26 – Silver medal winner through the Best of the NW beer competition, this is a Bavarian-style beer with rich banana and clove yeast character on a cloudy and slightly tart base.
