Gigantic Brewing Celebrates 13 Years with Never Say Die IPA, a Collaboration with Firestone Walker
As Gigantic Brewing gets ready to celebrate its 13th Anniversary during the month of May, it has a few events lined up leading to the anniversary itself on May 9, 2025. On Friday, May 2nd, Gigantic Brewing will debut its latest beer, Never Say Die IPA, a collaboration with Firestone Walker Brewing. Then on Saturday, May 3rd, the brewery will host its Enchantment Under the Sea Adult Prom, with the 13th Anniversary Celebration taking place on Friday May 9th.
A few weeks ago, Matt Brynildson, Brewmaster at Firestone Walker Brewing, was in Portland with Van Havig and Ben Love of Gigantic Brewing to collaborate on the new Never Say Die IPA. Taking its name from the cult classic film, The Goonies, this new IPA brings together an amazing hop profile that’ll delight any hophead!
Never Say Die IPA is crafted with Firestone’s hand-selected Riwaka hops, Gigantic’s picks of Simcoe and Crystal, and a generous pour of Mosaic Incognito. Never Say Die IPA hits hard with bright tropical fruit, punchy citrus, and a subtle whiff of dank diesel. Clocking in at 7% ABV and 70 IBUs, it’s a golden-hued hop trip that doesn’t hold back.
“This beer is a full-throttle hop journey,” says Gigantic brewmaster Ben Love. “It’s all the best parts of what Firestone and Gigantic bring to the table, wrapped up in a skull-faced, treasure-hoarding IPA.”
To match the beer’s high-octane energy, label art comes courtesy of Rob Reger and Buzz Parker. Their illustration channels a mythic, goonie vibe that’s equal parts comic book chaos and underground treasure map.
Never Say Die IPA drops Friday, May 2nd at the Gigantic Brewery location, kicking off a week of 13th anniversary festivities. It’ll be available on tap and in cans at all three Gigantic taprooms, as well as select bottle shops and bars around Portland. We also hear that Gigantic will be sending this collaboration beer down to the Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Fest that takes place on May 31st.
