Laurelwood Brewing Returns with Portlandia Pilsner

An old favorite returns from Laurelwood Brewing as it packages its Portlandia Pilsner in 16oz cans as well as draft for a limited time.

Once just known as Portlandia Pils, this new fresh batch features the similar label artwork of the Portlandia sculpture created by Raymond Kaskey that’s located above the entrance of the Portland Building in downtown Portland, Oregon. The label artwork also utilizes Craft Canning’s amazing digital printer that makes for easier recycling than those cans with stickers or shrink sleeves.

Portlandia Pilsner is described as a light, crisp, and refreshing German-style Pilsner with a modern twist. Its backbone of 100% Pilsen malt & traditional German Noble Hops is given a distinctive update with the use of Mandarina Bavaria hops, providing a bright, citrusy kick.

“This is a fun beer to brew,” states Paul Plett, Laurelwood Brewing Head Brewer. “Getting to honor traditional brewing recipes and ingredients is a welcome challenge for a lot of brewers, but working with combinations of old and new ingredients can be a great way to modernize a recipe and create some really great flavor profiles!”

Portlandia Pilsner is part of Laurelwood Brewing Co’s rotating line of 16oz cans and draft and will be available in Laurelwood’s pub and in distribution beginning this week.
