The Bier Stein and Block 15 Collaborate on Crystal Ball IPA

Eugene, OR – The Bier Stein and Block 15 Brewing are proud to announce their collaboration “Crystal Ball IPA”! Created in conjunction with Block 15’s 15-year anniversary celebration, the beer pays homage to the long-standing relationship between the two, with staff from The Bier Stein assisting in recipe creation, artwork design, and team members traveling to Corvallis for a fun filled brew day. Longtime Beer Buyer for The Bier Stein, Dave Stockhausen recalls renting a van in the beginning to visit Block 15 and pickup the goods and transport back to The Bier Stein and it’s thirsty customers. “It has been amazing to watch Block 15 grow into such a powerhouse in front of our very eyes. Their attention to detail and sustainability are unmatched and I can’t wait to see what the future brings!”

Crystal Ball features classic West Coast IPA hops, Chinook, Amarillo, and Cascade, and is then fermented on the thiolized Horningdal Kviek yeast from Omega Yeast Labs. A yeast that alchemically pulls tropical notes out of these traditionally piney, stonefruit and citrus forward hops. The combination of these ingredients results in a beautifully balanced IPA, with visions of tropical fruit and intense citrus.

“We are honored to collaborate with Block 15 on this special beer to celebrate their 15-year anniversary,” said Troy Potter, owner of The Bier Stein. “It was a great opportunity to work with their team to create something unique and delicious that represents our longstanding relationship and provide a delicious beer that our customers will love.”

The Bier Stein will proudly debut Crystal Ball at the Release Party this Thursday, April 13th at 5pm.  The Block 15 crew will be here sampling, giving away prizes via the prize wheel, and answering any technical questions about the sorcery conjured while creating this magic elixir. We will also have a tarot card reader in the house to answer all of your questions about the past, present, and future. This beer is a limited release and is sure to sell out quickly, so be sure to grab some on draft or a 4-pack while you can!
