Widmer Brothers Brewery and Pub will be hosting a couple of beer releases in the coming weeks. Tomorrow, February 24 it’ll be the re-launch of Steel Bridge Porter in 12 oz. 6 pack bottles. Then on Thursday, March 3 it’ll be the release party for First Star Red Rye, a beer brewed with Portland Timbers coach Caleb Porter.
Steel Bridge Porter Re-Launch
For the Steel Bridge Porter re-launch expect to see the man behind this beer, Oregon Brew Crew member and brewing legend Noel Blake. For this re-launch, Widmer Brothers will be offering up some special infusions of Steel Bridge Porter on tap.
First Star Release Party
Back in the fall of 2013 Widmer teamed up with then first year Portland Timbers coach Caleb Porter on Big Hearts and Brass Balls, A Caleb Porter. Now two and half years later Coach Porter is back at it with his latest collaboration with Widmer, First Star Red Rye. Using Widmer Brothers’ Alt yeast this beer was brewed in collaboration with Caleb Porter and the Timbers’ coaching staff. To make this evening more interesting the MLS Cup will be on display during this event. There will be members of the Timbers and its coaching staff present at this event. This will be a great way to kick off the 2016 Portland Timbers season that begins on Sunday, March 6.
Both events will take place from 5:30 to 8:30pm inside the Widmer Brothers Brewery and Pub.
