Von Ebert Brewing to Release its First Bottled Beer – Obeisance

Born at the Von Ebert Brewing Pearl, but raised at the Von Ebert Brewing Glendoveer, the Portland based brewer is set to release Obeisance, its first bottled beer. Obeisance will be released on Saturday, June 8th at the Glendoveer location from 11:00am-3:00pm.

For the release, Von Ebert will have about 70 of the 100 cases bottled of Obeisance available at its Glendoveer location. There will be a 6-bottle limit for the general public and a 12-bottle limit for Von Ebert Stein Society members. Von Ebert will also have keg conditioned Obeisance on tap during the release so you can try it prior to making a purchasing decision.

Von Ebert will have brewers conducting brewery tours from 11:00am-3:00pm and snacks will be provided during the tour for folks purchasing bottles. The release will only occur at Glendoveer, but the Pearl District will receive a limited number of cases/ kegs for release the following week on June 15th. Obeisance will cost $12 each, packaged in 500mL (16.9 oz) bottles.

Obeisance Description:
The beer, called Obeisance, meaning deferential respect, is an homage to Upright Brewing, who is celebrating its 10-year anniversary. The beer is actually two beers that were brewed at Von Ebert’s Pearl Location.  Both beers spent over a year in Oak Puncheons with Brettanomyces. They were then brought over to Glendoveer for blending and the addition of Etrog and Calamondins from Pearson Ranch in California as well as Long Pepper. Calamondins are also known as Calamansi or Philippine Lime and they are a hybrid of Kumquat and Mandarin Orange.  Etrog’s are a citron typically used in the Jewish celebration of Sukkot. The beer was bottle conditioned for over 2 months.
