Golden Valley opened their first location in the heart of Oregon’s Wine Country in McMinnville, OR back in 1993. Nineteen years in business is very impressive and makes it one of Oregon’s longest running operating breweries. During this time they have gone through a few brewers but their current brewer, Mark Vickery, has been with them for over the past decade. Prior to joining Golden Valley, Mark spent time learning the ropes at Bridgeport Brewing while studying at PSU. He then went on to Bend, OR to become John Harris’ assistant at the Deschutes Brew Pub. During these ten years at Deschutes, Mark assisted in the development of some of the Deschutes beers that continue to be enjoyed today.

At Golden Valley’s new Beaverton location construction began months ago to transform the former Chili’s location into a much larger and more inviting space. What came of this construction and remodel is a very large bar area. The bar now offers up large TV’s to catch some sports while sitting at some tall bar tables in the middle and shorter tables around the perimeter. Speaking of the bar, Golden Valley offers a full liquor selection along with 6 wines on tap and 10 taps of their beer that they bring in from their McMinnville location. The ten selections offer some excellent variety in styles that you’d expect from a brewpub with this history. Current offerings include:

Year Round Selections:

  • Golden Valley Brewery3rd Street Wheat
  • Beaverton Blonde
  • Chehalem IPA
  • Red Thistle Ale
  • Dundee Porter
  • Muddy Valley Oatmeal Stout
  • Carlton Kolsch

Seasonal Selections:

  • Tannen Bomb
  • Atlas Elevator Bock
  • Rye PA

The largest transformation has been a newly constructed addition to the dining room and a banquet room above. This addition will offer more Portland area residents to take in Golden Valley’s food offerings. Golden Valley has built a reputation on their all-natural beef that they raise on their own Angus Springs Ranch on their 76 acres outside of McMinnville. And once our cooler rainy season ends, Golden Valley built a nice large patio that wraps around the eastside of the addition.
