Portland's Cheers to Belgian Beers Coming to Hopworks

PCTBB

Volunteers Needed for Annual Fundraiser and Beer Festival

A little taste of Bruges heads to Hopworks Urban Brewery (HUB) as the fourth Portland’s Cheers to Belgian Beers festival arrives on Saturday, May 1. All net proceeds from this year’s festival will be donated to Parkinson’s Resources of Oregon.

Portland’s Cheers to Belgian Beers started four years ago to raise funds for local charities and introduce Oregonians to the breadth of beer styles and flavors brewed in Belgium. All the beers at the festival are made by Oregon breweries using the same yeast strain in a Belgian-inspired manner. A “People’s Choice” winner is selected from the more than 30 beers by festival attendees and the winning brewery chooses the charity for next year as well as the yeast strain to be used.

Hopworks Urban Brewery’s (HUB) is seeking volunteers for the upcoming Portland’s Cheers to Belgian Beers festival on Saturday, May 1. The following shifts are available: setup from 9 a.m. to noon; 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; and 6 to 9 p.m. and teardown from 9 to 10:30 p.m. OLCC-licensed servers and general volunteers are both needed.

Volunteers will receive a complimentary tasting glass, five tasting tickets and a Portland’s Cheers to Belgian Beers trucker hat. To sign up, please email ben@hopworksbeer.com and enter what shift you would prefer, if you’re OLCC-licensed and your contact information.
