6th Annual Cider Summit Portland Announces Cider List for 2016 Event

The premier event during Oregon Cider Week returns once again with Cider Summit Portland. The Rose City’s largest cider tasting festival will take place from June 17-18 at The Fields Neighborhood Park in the Pearl District. With nearly 200 ciders pouring and for the first time at the event a selection of meads and cider cocktails as well, will make this year’s event the largest ever.

For the sixth year, Cider Summit Portland will feature around 200 different cider offerings and over 150 of these are from the Pacific Northwest with many of the others coming from California, Michigan and New York. There will also be some international selections include benchmark styles from England, France, Spain and others.

Oregon Fruit Products will once again feature 24 fruit ciders as part of its 2nd annual Oregon Fruit Products Fruit Cider Challenge. Attendees will get to vote on their favorite from the offerings. This year look for fruit flavors of Black Currant, Blood Orange, Blueberry, Boysenberry, Mango, Peach, Raspberry, and Sweet Cherry.

Cider Summit

Festival hours will be the same as last year. As in years past there will be a VIP Session on Friday, June 17 at 2:00pm. Regular festival hours are 3:00 to 8:00pm on Friday and then from Noon to 5:00pm on Saturday, June 18.

General admission tickets are $35 in advance online or at selected event sponsor locations and $40 at the door. VIP tickets are available for $45, exclusively online, and include four extra tasting tickets and exclusive early access to the event between 2pm-3pm on Friday.  Designated driver tickets will be available for $5 at the door only and include a bottle of water. This event is strictly 21 & over – no exceptions. Beyond the delicious cider there will also be food available for purchase from World Foods, Streetcar Bistro and a number of snack vendors and a Dog Lounge, hosted by DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital where dogs & pet owners can recharge & refresh. And if you want to take home some bottles, there will be the Cider Summit Event Store that feature bottles-to-go and an array of event merchandise.
