Kristof Farms Inaugural Cider Release – Orchard Cider

Nestles in the rolling hills of Yamhill County lies Kristof Farms. The 5o years old family farm operated by Journalist Nicholas Kristof and his wife, Sheryl WuDunn and their family, is set to celebrate the launch of its inaugural cider, Orchard Cider. The release will take place on Sunday, October 10th in Portland, Oregon at The Place PDX.

Three years ago, the family began planting several acres of cider apples and vineyard grapes where a cherry orchard once stood. It was there where the family harvested eight varieties of apples from their first apple harvest to produce Orchard Cider. The cider was produced and bottled by Reverend Nat’s Hard Cider in Portland, OR.

“Our cider is the product of a farm that is three generations and 50 years in the making,” said Caroline Kristof, Farm Operations Manager, in a press release. “We are so excited to be sharing our story and fruit with the rest of Oregon and beyond!”

The cider launch will take place on Sunday, October 10, from 4-6 pm at The Place PDX in Southeast Portland, formerly home of Bushwhacker Cider. Tacos will be available from Canallas.
