Portland Cider and Stoller Family Estate Collaborate on Tree & Vine Cider
|
In time for Oregon Wine Month that takes place during the entire month of May, two of Oregon’s craft beverage producers, Portland Cider Company and Stoller Family Estate, have collaborated to create a cider that bridges the orchard and the vineyard into one can. The new Tree & Vine Cider brings together juicy Northwest apples that are co-fermented with Pinot Meunier grapes, resulting in the one-of-a-kind Oregon cider!
Tree & Vine Cider is described as a fresh take on what the Pacific Northwest does best: fruit, fermentation, and innovation. Portland Cider’s Northwest-grown apple blend contributes sweetness and light tannins, while co-fermented Pinot Meunier grapes from Stoller lend a light blush tinge and earthy essence. The resulting cider is vibrant, complex, and lightly effervescent with notes of juicy strawberry, tart stone fruit, and a hint of melon, with a crisp, dry finish.
This collaboration celebrates the alchemy that comes from blending fruit cultivated in the diverse growing regions of the Pacific Northwest. Oregon’s Willamette Valley is world-renowned for its complex soil profile, shaped by eons of geologic activity and uniquely suited to growing wine grapes. Apples grown in the Yakima Valley of Washington benefit from ancient Missoula Flood deposits and a mild, semi-arid climate—perfect for cultivating exceptional tree fruit.

“This partnership brings some of the best elements of the PNW together in one refreshing cider,” said Jeff Parrish, co-founder of Portland Cider Co. “Oregon apples have so much character already, and bringing a really distinctive grape varietal into the mix adds this whole layer of depth and complexity. It’s still cider at heart, but with a wink to the wine world.”
“This co-fermentation of our Pinot Meunier grapes with Portland Cider company’s apples creates a cider that’s unexpected and expressive,” said Evan Rose, winemaker at Stoller Family Estate. “The Pinot Meunier lifts with bright red fruit and delicate floral notes–it’s textured, playful, and utterly enchanting.”
The limited-run Tree & Vine Cider is available at fine retailers and grocers throughout the Pacific Northwest into the summer, while supplies last. Portland Cider makes it easy to locate with its Cider Finder.
